"That's right," Williams responds. "We think he might have been murdered."
He *might* have been murdered? Interesting.

The Officers take a second to think. Morris speaks up:
"Uh, well, no, not yet."
"Isn't it kind of irregular to bring someone in for questioning for a crime that may or may not have been committed? You don't even know whether he was murdered, but you're bringing me in as a suspect?"
The Officers pause again. There's something not right here. They know what it is, but you don't. But you're going to figure it out at this rate, if you keep asking questions.

You try to dig the chip out, but it doesn't budge. Alright, next plan. You take your car key and slam it into the back of your neck where the chip is.The pain makes you lightheaded, but you hear a small noise coming from your neck. That's a good sign, right? Again and again, you continue to jab the back of your neck. Suddenly, the chip makes a loud noise, and you convulse as jolts of electricity run through your body. You fall to your hands and knees but somehow remain conscious. The chip makes a quiet noise now, and you think whatever you did might have worked. You manage to bring yourself to your feet and feel the back of your neck, which is covered in blood.
You go for the panel again this time, and you manage to put your hands on it. Yes!
It's stuck on tight to the wall. You jab your car key and wedge it inbetween the panel and the wall. You use the key like the world's tiniest crowbar, positioning your elbow against the wall and pushing with all your might. After a few seconds, the panel comes off, revealing an opening in the wall.
You take a deep breath. Okay. This is it. Whatever the truth is, it's waiting for you on the other side of that wall. It has to be.
[[Crawl through the opening]]]
(else:)[You pass by the body on your way to the closet. You notice that the body is riddled with bullets wounds, which are located in the same places you were shot in the last time you died. Huh. Is that the body you inhabited last time, then?
You get to the closet and look at the panel. For some reason, you can't seem to move towards it. Paralyzed, you stare at the panel. You want to open it, but can't. Why? Why can't you get close to this fucking panel?
Suddenly, you remember the small computer chip you saw on the dead body. You feel the back of your neck, and sure enough, there's a chip there too. That must be the source of this paralysis, right? Whoever is 'behind' this shit, they don't want you to open this panel.

[[Crawl through the opening]]]"Sure, come on in."
You let the officers in, and they step inside.
"Please, sit down." You gesture towards the two reclining chairs in your living room. "Can I get you anything to drink?"
Officer Williams shakes his head no.
"Uh, no thanks. I'm not thirsty," Officer Morris says.
"Shame. I'm practically dying of thirst," you respond. "For some reason I have this terrible desire to drink juice. You folks wouldn't happen to have any on you, would you?"
The officers look at each other like they know something about the juice. Williams writes some more stuff on his notepad.
"What are you writing?" you ask.
"Don't worry about it," Williams responds.
"Okay. Oh, that reminds me, I have something for you guys. Give me one second."
You turn to leave the room, and both officers stand up.
"Uh, we can't let you just leave like that," Morris says.
"Why not?"
"You could try to escape or be getting a weapon from the other room."
You shrug nonchalantly "You can come with me if you want to."
They follow you into the bedroom, where you open your trunk, drag the body out, and plop it down on the floor in front of them.
"So is this the guy you're looking for?"
Shocked, the officers go for their guns and both point them at you.
"You are under arrest for the murder of Matthew Macdonagh. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say...
blah blah blah. You get the feeling they're in on this, whatever 'this' is. They're acting too atypically to not be. You'd like to get some more information from them, but you get the feeling if you let them arrest you you won't be able to die. That would be bad.
You scream and lunge at the officers, who quickly gun you down.
Time to reset.
[[Start Over->Start Over Gun]] "No, I think I'm fine," you say.
"Sir, we're going to have to insist that we come in," Morris says.
"Why?"
"I... I don't know."
You and Morris look at each other. He's trying to figure out a way to get in without telling you anything, but you won't let him. And both of you know it.
"This is weird. We should probably reset," Williams says to Morris.
Morris shrugs. "Sure."
"Reset? What do you mean reset?" you ask as Williams takes his gun out and shoots you.
[[Start Over->Start Over Gun]] (if: (history:) contains "Start Over Gun")[You wake up, thirsty as always.
So the clerk is in on it. He was writing in a notepad, just like Officer Williams. They're all in on it. The problem is, you have no idea what "it" is. I guess that's kind of the point, but you're going to figure it out. You need to do some more experimenting.
Knock knock knock. "POLICE!"
The voice sounds different. It doesn't sound like Morris or Williams. Interesting.
You kind of want to open the door, but that runs the risk of you getting shot by them again. You've already done all that. Dying the same way would be a waste.
[[Look out the peephole]]]
(else:)[Whatever's going on, the clerk definitely knows something. He's shot you multiple times now, and the last time he was writing something in a notebook for some reason. You've still got a ways to go before you understand your situation.
A knock at your door. "POLICE!"
The voice sounds different than before.
You could open the door, but when has that ever turned out well for you? Maybe it would be best to just look through the peephole.
[[Look out the peephole]]
[[Ignore them and look around your apartment for information]]](if: (history:) contains "Start Over Ear")[You look out of the peephole and see two police officers standing outside. There's a woman with straight brown hair tied in a bun on the left and a man with short black hair on the right. They're about the same height. They look nervous; their hands clasped tightly on their guns. The woman looks back to see if there's anyone behind her.
This just confirms your theory from before; It's not the world that is looping over and over; it's just you. You can change things. That raises more questions, however, and you still can't answer the biggest one:
What the fuck is happening?
The new officers knock loudly on your door again. There's got to be something else here that can clue you in to what's going on.

This is the first time the officers have been different. This is also the first time, as far as you can tell, that you have killed someone. This means that it's not the world that is looping over and over; it's just you. Actions that you take can permanently change the loops that happen in the future.
But the question still remains: what's causing the loops? What is going on?
Knock Knock Knock. "POLICE!"

You find some car keys and batteries, but nothing else. You might be able to drive your car now that you have the keys.

[[Crawl through the opening]]]You kneel down and crawl through the opening in the wall. You stand up on the other side to see an enormous room lined with enormous glass tanks filled with water. On the inside of each of these tanks is a floating body that looks just like you. Their mouths are covered with masks that connect to tubes that hang overhead, and their bodies lie in the water lifelessly.
You walk through the aisles of tanks to the other side of the room. A sign in the center of the wall reads:
**Operation JUICE**
**Experiment Subject 28**
**Matthew Macdonagh**
